My answer is this. Hairless animals are certainly not unhealthy. Why would they be? They live just as long as any other animal, considering they came from a reputable breeder.As far as do they get cold easily. Obviously no hairless animal should be kept outside. As long as you keep them inside at normal room temperature, they will be perfectly fine. They are actually warm to the touch.
Do they have skin issues? Every once in a while they can get dry skin. Apply pure Aloe Vera to their skin and it will fix the problem right away. Hairless dogs can have acne issues, but I have yet to have this problem with my HL hamster or Skinny Pig. They also can scratch their skin if they itch their self.
Hairless animals do not require much more special care than any other animal. They do require more protein however, and they seem to lose weight much quicker.
The truth is, they are just like any other animal except they received the hairless gene and express it.
